Retail Therapy Thursday

Drum roll please!!!

Just a few (cheap!) pretties I picked up last weekend at Francescas:

Disclaimer: no that is not my ear. I used this pic so you could get an idea of size!
Francescas In the Wings Earrrings

Francesca's Between the Rocks Necklace
{here}
You might recall that I've been craving some turquoise and gold jewelry at a reasonable price point (geeezz why is it all so expensive?) and these are totally it. I'm swooning over the earrings extra hard.

I also bought a few nail polishes but they didn't have them on the website. I'll have to try and remember to do a manicure with all of them so you can see!

One more day till Friday!

Retail Therapy Thursday

Technically, there's not really supposed to be much to this week's edition of RTT but alas...damn you Victorias Secret.

Ready, set, go!

Side note: sorry for the weird hybrid photo. I purchased both pieces in BLACK. Only half of VS stuff on the website can be viewed in alternative colors by clicking on the swatches.

To Top it All Off!

The perfect nude. Period.
{here}

And because I can't wear swimmies all the time...
{here}
This is how the breakdown of my will power happened: I'd been eyeing these items for some time (except the first swimmie and cover-up: those bad boys have been on my radar since last season!) and never bit the bullet because A) I wanted a promo code and B) VS doesn't do flat rate shipping (BOO VS. BOO.).

I receive emails from VS all the time, so much so that I don't read all of them. I was already aware of the $15/$30/$75 off promo they had going (which made me put things in my cart on a few different occasions but then ultimately not purchase) but then, by happenstance (or destiny???), I happened to click on an email that said there was one day left for free shipping with any bra purchase. Oh happy day!

I threw the 'must haves' in my shopping cart and came up to $167 after the $30 off $125 was applied. Then I realized that the $75 off $250 coupon would give me $250 worth of lovelies for only $175- $8 shy of what I was already spending. I can tell you are understanding how the downfall happened...I added a few more items (ultimately the cover-up and lipstick) to bring me to $251. Side note: do you have any idea how hard it is to find things that equal a specific amount? I DO. Literally, like, 45 minutes of my life was dedicated to this endeavor.

Annnywho...cheers!

Retail Therapy Thursday

I know I sound like a broken record by now with all the "I've been so busy"s and "will get back to posting soon"s. Yea, I'm kinda tired of it too. I've really been wanting to do more OTD posts but I've found it's kinda hard. I know a lot of you photograph your OTD's on the weekend in preparation for posts on upcoming days of the week, and many of you take a quick shot in the AM before work or whatever outing and even many more take them once they get home but I haven't quite found my groove yet. AM pics are not going to happen because I'm literally walking in 2 minutes before work starts everyday as it is and after work, we have about 2.5 seconds of daylight left so it makes trying to freshen up and get pics in before the natural light is gone pretty much exhausting. Although I might be saved once day light savings hits in the next few weeks. I haven't tried the weekend way so perhaps this is my calling.

Moving on to my favorite day of the week: it's Retail Therapy Thursday!
Here are the pretties I bought this week:

JB by Julie Brown Bullseye Geometric Jersey Dress
{here}

JB my Julie Brown Melanie Dress
{here}
I have desperately been seeking a cute jersey tunic type dress ala Lilly Pulitzer but never quite found one that wasn't A) 2.5 million dollars, B) too short or C) just plain ugly. I happened to stumble upon the selection over at Bluefly of these pretty options by JB by Julie Brown and it was love. Originally just over $200 each, the dresses were marked down by nearly 50% plus they had a code for Shopstyle searchers of $40 off $200 plus Ebates had 3.5% cash back. This was a no brainer.

I'm so excited to add these two summery dresses in punchy prints to my closet! Here's hoping they fit; eek!

Retail Therapy Thursday

So it's really been far too long since my last post. My internet has been down all week and work, again, has been crazy. It seems like the last thing I want to do when I get home is write up a post. Bad blogger, bad!

It's time another edition of Retail Therapy Thursday! Woo-to-the-Hoo!

Here are this week's buys:

Forever21 Leatherette Access Belt
{here}
Gasp! Leatherette?! Yea, well, it's F21 and it's the only chocolate brown belt I could find that fit my waist. Side note to you tiny ladies out there: this belt fits super small!

ASOS Scallop Detail Shift Dress in Coral
{here}
I've been stalking this dress now for a few weeks waiting for the US size 2 to come back in stock. It will for about a day and then it's gone again. Luckily I snatched it up just in time! Love that tomatoey coral color this has going on and those sweet scallops? Gorgeous!

Lulu's La La Love One Shoulder Dress in White and Pink
Available in a select few colors and sizes {here}
I actually purchased this exact same dress last year at TJ Maxx in Navy and LOVE it. When I discovered Lulus carried the same dress (Lulus has their tag sewn in instead of whatever mine says) I was thrilled. They come out with new colors every few months (along with staples like black) but they sell out super quick. This time around I was able to snag one in white and hot pink (looks more coral in this pic but its a nice bright pink...honeysuckle even???). Since these colors aren't available on the website anymore, I did a quick search online to see if anyone had posted them and wouldn't you know, Princess Sassy not only posted this dress, but posted the pic above; the exact colors I bought! Great minds think alike.

I also bought a great pair of stud earrings from World Market (random?) that are a great color; like if jade and turquoise had a baby...I tried to find a pic online but no go.

That wraps up Retail Therapy Thursday!

Retail Therapy Thursday

On a personal note, this past week or so has kinda been stressful. TGIRTT! (Thank God it's Retail Therapy Thursday! I know, I'm lame...just humor me).

Ahhhhhh, let the healing begin:

Ann Taylor Loft Lace Sleeve Sweater Dress
{here}
I spotted this dress in my local ATL about three weeks ago while on a "returning spree" and literally ran to it. It wasn't available in petite and the smallest size they had was a small and it was pretty big. When I got home, I immediately got online to check the website and it wasn't there. I stalked the website for a week and a half before it finally popped up on the website and sizes started in regular XXS! I would have preferred a petite but figured I could make this work since I'm a bit curvier in a few areas than some of you ladies. At the time this appeared on the website, ATL was running a measly 15% off promo. I heavily debated getting it at that price and checked every day to make sure it was still available while I tried to make up my mind. Then, last week, magic happened. 40% PROMO, baby! I had that sucker in my shopping cart so fast it would have made your head spin. I was going to post this dress on last week's edition of WSW (Window Shopping Wednesday) but to be honest, I didn't want you fellow tinies running and buying it before I could. Of course today, all the tiny people sizes are sold out :( sad for you. Muahahaha. Ok, that's mean...but seriously, tee hee.

As mentioned in yesterday's post, I snagged a few goodies during my work (and sometimes play) trip to Texas:

ATL Multi-Ring Double Wrap Belt in Cognac
Sold out in every option online except in black XS
{here}
I've been looking for a wrap around belt for several months now and during my same visit to ATL in which I discovered my lace sleeve dress, I saw this belt. They had two in the entire store and this was a new item! I guess I'm not the only one who wants to rock this look. This belt is intended to go around your hips but I wanted to use it to cinch in my waste. Even the XS was not have worked I'm sure so I thought I'd get a little inventive. I thought if I got a big enough size, I could wrap this not twice, but three times around my waste and achieve the look I wanted. During my time in Texas, we hit up the Northpark mall in Dallas and the ATL there had both a medium and large. The large was perfect! This store barely had any either, in fact, I ended up stealing mine off a mannequin. It's cause I'm dedicated like that.

And last but not least, I saved the best for last:

JCrew Cece Flats
{here}
No, I didn't buy all three. Just the black. I previously posted about these back in October here.
I have seriously wanted these captoe flats for about six months. Why didn't I just buy them? Because they are $128 and that is obsurd for JCrew flats. Sorry. If you check the link, you can see that they are still $128, so why did I buy these, you may ask? Well dearest readers, because I'm the luckiest girl in the world. True story: I failed to mention that I was with my mom at Northpark (she lives near Dallas so we got to link up) and I dragged her into JCrew to show here these flats in person. Sadly, they were nowhere to be found on the store floor. A very nice sales girl noticed my looking (sadly?) at the shoes and asked if she could help me find anything. I explained that I had dropped in to show my mom a certain shoe and described it to her. She told me to wait a minute so she could check the back. She popped back out with two pairs both of which were ginormous sizes (I'm talking like 10's here) and asked what size I was. I told her I'd tried on a 6 in store and it was very close so I would need a 5. That saint of a girl then told me my shoes were on sale in store for $69 because of a 40% off promo and that she could order them for me through corporate and they would honor the store price. While $70 was still a bit more than I wanted to spend on flats I knew these shoes would never be cheaper on the website with my size in stock and since I'd been lusting for them for so long, I should go for it. I got on the phone with corporate to give them my payment info and at the very end, made an amazing discovery. I had misunderstood the sales girl when she told me the shoes were $69 because of the 40%. The shoes were on sale for $69 PLUS 40% off. ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME??? $42 dollars, people. FOURTY-TWO FREAKING DOLLARS. Ok, I'm done...

And that dear ladies, is a fairy tale ending to this week's RTT!

Retail Therapy Thursday

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, my Retail Therapy Thursday series is getting an attitude adjustment and I will now be sharing any purchases made during the last week.

Here's this week's Therapy:
Aldo Cyphert Bag in Midnight Black
{here}
On one of my many blog hops, I stumbled across this adorable bag. I've expressed my love of tassels many a time so add that to the classic black and gold combo and we had a winner! I watched this bag online for about a week without making a move. I called my local Aldo and they only had it in the color "Rust" which based on the website, I didn't care for but I figured I could judge the quality in person and then order it from the website through the store since you get free shipping that way. On the day I planned on going down there, I checked the website and the black was sold out. :( I thought I  might like the "Beige" so I went anyway. In person this purse is SO cute. It's a little on the small side (good for petites) but overall it looks a lot higher end than it really it. The only thing I could say that was a con was the interior fabric. It's nothing special, just some basic black (assuming the other colors have matching monochromatic interiors) canvas. I wished it was something a little more substantial but no one is going to see that anyways so who really cares. I haven't worn it yet but I'm looking forward to making the purse switch soon. Does anyone else find purse switching a daunting task???

A few things to make me pretty:
Stila E! Red Carpet Series: Breathtaking Beauty Palette
{here}

This was actually a gift from one of my besties for my birthday a few weeks ago. The colors in this palette are beyond gorgeous and the eye shadows are super pigmented!

MAC Viva Glam in Gaga (as in "Lady Gaga!)
Sold out online - check your local counter!
 I cannot say enough about how gorgeous this lipstick is. I typically don't wear lipstick because they dry my lips out a bit but this hasn't. The color is the most beautiful shade of light, hot pink. You can dab it on for a subtle flush of color like I do, or go full blown for a Gaga inspired look. Either way, you will be super hot!

I've got several purchases coming my way so stay tuned for next week's Retail Therapy Thursday!

Retail Therapy Thursday

Does everyone know what time it is?

Yes, that's right, it's the (new) weekly edition of Retail Therapy Thursday! My bank account is officially on lockdown for the remainder of the month (boo! Look-Halloween word play! Hardy har har) so until November rolls around, window shopping will have to suffice.

Here's what I've been dreaming about this week:

Madewell Sequin Sweater Vest

Forever21 Lace Dress

Jcrew Cece Leather Ballet Flats in every color but the icky olive green

SM Dahlia Booties in Gray. Sold out in my size so might have to 'settle' for black

ASOS Gypsy Polka Dot Tights

ASOS Gypsy French Back Seam Tights

ASOS Heart Suspender Tights. Note to self: do not wear flats with tights. Unless you want to look 5.
If only...

Retail Therapy Thursday

Apparently my lack of motivation to blog has turned into a full on MIA status over here at SS. Where have I been all your life?! Relax readers, I'm back in action.

I thought it might be fun to start a series that shows just what I'm lusting after the past week. I'm going to call it Retail Therapy Thursday. See, there's even a graphic. Fancy.

Right now I'm thinking that's just sooo clever but if I am indeed not as clever as I thought and this already exists (which come on, I'm sure it does somewhere out in blogland), just don't tell me so I can bask in my awesomeness just a wee bit longer.

I'd start today but everything I've been eyeing...well...I bought. Hmmm...opps. Yes major damage to the old bank account this month. Seriously. Will be eating top ramon for the next 8 to 85 weeks. But as these mishaps tend to do, there is a silver lining! Lots and lots of fashion fun for me to share! See, I told you I was back!

Now if only I could do something other than whine about that crappy camera I have...
